Update: Faxed Prescription Renewal Fee Effective May 2026
Starting May 1, 2026, our office will begin enforcing a $30 fee for prescription renewals sent by fax without an appointment.
In the past, this fee was often waived; however, the increasing volume of faxed renewal requests has led to a significant amount of unpaid time for physicians and staff which is no longer sustainable.
Please note:
The $30 fax renewal fee is already included if you have paid the annual block fee.
The annual block fee provides access to all of our uninsured services, including faxed prescription renewals, for one single fee. This block covers the period from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.
Patients typically pay the block fee each September for the full year. For this year only, we will make an exception and allow patients to enroll now and have the fee prorated for the remainder of the current block-fee year
If you wish to pay for the annual block fee, please contact our office and our staff will be happy to assist you.
You may choose to book an in-person or virtual appointment for your prescription renewals instead — appointments will not incur this fee.
To help avoid delays or running out of medication, please check how many refills you have remaining and plan ahead. We recommend allowing at least two to four weeks before your prescription runs out to either book an appointment or request a fax renewal.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this change to maintain timely and high-quality care for all our patients.
Thank you,
Dr’s. Golian, Hosokawa and Liu
